Before you start

Three things, then you're two minutes from done.

The StockPulse bot open in Telegram — @stockpulse_official_bot.
An active plan — tap /plans in the bot if you haven't picked one.
Your normal broker login (Zerodha or Dhan).

One broker is enough. Connect both only if you want a single combined PnL across the two.

Zerodha

You log in on Zerodha's own page. Nothing to copy or paste anywhere.

In Telegram, send /connect and tap 🟢 Connect Zerodha.

Tap Log in to Zerodha. Your browser opens Zerodha's own Kite login page — the same one you always use. The link works for 15 minutes. If it expires, just tap Connect Zerodha again.

Enter your Kite User ID (looks like AB1234) and password, then your usual 2FA / TOTP code. StockPulse never sees your password or your 2FA code — you type them on Zerodha's site.

Zerodha shows an authorise screen naming the app. Approve it.

The page says Zerodha connected and the bot confirms in Telegram. Close the tab — you're done. Zerodha access is a one-day session — every trading morning, tap Connect Zerodha once more.

Dhan

A few clicks on web.dhan.co to create a read key, then paste two values into the bot.

Open web.dhan.co in a browser and log in.

Click your Profile (top-right corner) → DhanHQ Trading APIs. Same path in the Dhan mobile app: Profile → DhanHQ APIs.

First time only: if you see a Request Access button, tap it and refresh the page. Access is granted within seconds. Until you do this there is no token button on the page at all — this is the step most people get stuck on.

Tap Generate Access Token. If Dhan asks how long it should stay valid, pick the longest option (about 30 days).

Copy the access token straight away — it's a long random string. Also copy your Client ID, the ~10-digit number shown on the same page (e.g. 1100123456). Copy before you navigate away; if you lose it, just generate a new one.

Back in Telegram, send /connect → 🔵 Connect Dhan, then send both values in one message:
1100123456:eyJhbGciOi... A newline between the two instead of the colon works just as well. The bot checks them with Dhan before saving, deletes your message the moment it's read, and stores the token encrypted.

⚠️ Generating a new Dhan token invalidates the previous one. If you use the Dhan API anywhere else (your own script, another tool), that session will stop working — re-paste the new token there too.

Something went wrong?

The bot says the credentials were rejected: Usually a half-copied token or the Client ID pasted twice. Generate a fresh token on web.dhan.co and send client_id:token again — copy each value with a long-press “Select all”, not by dragging.
There's no “Generate Access Token” button on the Dhan page: You haven't been granted API access yet. Tap Request Access on that same page and refresh (step 3 above).
PnL stopped updating after a few weeks (Dhan): Your Dhan token expired — they last about 30 days. Generate a new one and send it to the bot again.
PnL stopped updating this morning (Zerodha): Normal. Zerodha sessions last one day. Send /connect → Connect Zerodha and log in again.
The bot says I need an active plan: Connecting a broker requires a plan. Tap /plans, pay, then retry the connect.
No alerts are arriving: Send /mypnl — if it shows numbers, data is flowing and your target simply hasn't been crossed. If it doesn't, reconnect the broker above.

FAQ

What is an “access token”, exactly?: A temporary key your broker issues so an app can read your account. It is not your password, it can't be used to log in as you, and you can revoke it any time by disconnecting or generating a new one.
Can StockPulse place trades with it?: No. StockPulse only calls the read endpoints for positions and holdings. It never places, modifies, or cancels an order — there is no order-placing code in it at all.
Is this safe?: Read-only. StockPulse never places, modifies or cancels orders. Tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and the message you paste is deleted from the chat right after it's read.
What data do you read?: Only your positions and holdings — enough to compute PnL. No personal data, no order placement, no funds access.
How do I disconnect or delete my data?: Open /connect in the bot and tap Disconnect next to the broker — the stored token is deleted immediately. For deletion of everything else, ask via the Contact page.
Do I need a plan?: Yes — connecting a broker needs an active plan. Tap /plans in the bot.
